I was watching the 1947 movie, "Monsieur Vincent," and a conversation between a noble lady and the saint struck me, so I share it (in part) below...

Queen:  You're doing too much.  We are old now.

St. Vincent:  One is old when one wants to be old.

Queen:  It's good to be done.

St. Vincent:  I have done so little.

Queen:  You know you've done a lot.  Very few will be able to show for as much work on Judgement Day.

St. Vincent:  I did sleep.  I slept so much.  I had to be old to realize one could live on four hours of sleep a night.  I was a coward quite often.  I gave in...  and I closed my eyes to forget about misery.

Queen:  Tell me.  Do you also feel now that death is near that you're leaving an empty hole behind?

St. Vincent:  Yes, Madame.  I haven't accomplished anything.

Queen:  What is one to do in life, then, to accomplish anything?

St. Vincent:  More.  We are so neglecting.

CALL TO ACTION:  Cease closing your eyes to the spiritual misery all around us, and do more!
